Main focus areas of the Consulting & Business Analytics Master's programme are essential elements of business administration with international aspects as well as process and IT management throughout the entire product life cycle.
Structure and Content
Consulting & Business Analytics deals with the following questions, among others:
How does digitisation change strategic decisions (business models, ecosystems, alliances) and operational management (process management, product development, customer interaction)?
What knowledge and skills are required in business consulting today and how must they be used?
How must business processes be designed in order to function reliably and stably in complex ecosystems, but also in a customer-oriented and agile manner?
How should decisions be made and communicated in complex scenarios and/ or with incomplete information?
How does leadership function and which leadership and management concepts can be used in cross-organisational (project) teams?
Your study programme at a glance
The Master's programme lasts four semesters (24 months). You study the first three semesters part-time and can work approx. 75% in your company. During the first three semesters you will complete attendance modules with four to five lecture days each (usually from Wednesday to Saturday; 75 days in total).
You will complete the Master's thesis in the last semester, preferably in cooperation with your employer.
Within the framework of the programme you will acquire 90 ECTS credits, 60 ECTS credits in the first three semesters, 30 ECTS credits from the Master's thesis in the fourth semester. Graduates of Bachelor's programmes with 180 ECTS credits can obtain a further 30 ECTS credits as part of an additional module.
Key Contents
The programme is designed to provide you with an integral approach to management tasks at the interface of technology and business administration in companies and organisations in the national and globalised environment.
In order to meet this goal, the programme is based upon a 3-pillar model that promotes and develops technical and business knowledge as well as integrative/social competencies (soft skills) in equal measure:
Business and economic fundamentals and specialisations are taught in subjects such as Sales/ Marketing, Innovation and Growth, International Business Law, International Accounting and Controlling, Business Management, Human Resources Management, Consulting.
Technical specialisations will be in IT in Corporate Performance Management, IT in Finance/ Controlling, IT Services & Outsourcing, IT in the Product Development Process, Process Management, Knowledge Management, Operation Strategies.
Interdisciplinary topics and soft skills are taught directly and indirectly in the subjects Presentation and Scientific Work, Negotiation, Management of International Projects, Leadership and the Business Management Game.
